HP + Palm

HP has decided to gamble on Palm – A move that could help it move more aggressively into the mobile market. Palm’s webOS has generally been well received; the company’s failure to ignite interest in the Pre and Pixi smartphones has been put down to ineffective marketing and a lack of apps. HP intends to throw a lot of money at those problems and is confident it will see a healthy return.

It has been announced that HP just finalized a deal to purchase Palm for 1.2 billion dollars and it’s exactly what Palm needed. There has been speculation for the past few weeks that various big names were looking to step in, and save Palm.
