Intellisense In Eclipse

Activation of Type-a-head (Intellisense) feature in Eclipse

It is written primarily in Java and can be used to develop applications in Java and, by means of the various plug-ins, in other languages as well, including C, C++, COBOL, Python, Perl, PHP, and others. The IDE is often called Eclipse ADT for Ada, Eclipse CDT for C, Eclipse JDT for Java and Eclipse PDT for PHP.

Beginners or newbies find it a bit complex as compared to Microsoft Visual Studio. The most common problem is the activation of the intellisense or type-a-head feature. To activate this feature you need to follow the following steps as shown in the above screenshot.

SOLUTION

1. Click window

2. Click preferences

3. Then select the language you want  code assistance with.

4. Then select editor.

5.  Cick code assist

6. After that on right window see Auto Activation and check the option “Enable auto activation”.
